My husband and I are going to be moving to our own place soon! :D It's a TINY house, but it's perfect for us! :) It's cheap enough too! $200 a month! That's what we're paying right now at my parents! And hopefully, we'll be able to talk the landlord into letting us buy the place, because we see soooo much potential in that place! It's on the outskirts of town and in front of a farm! (Well, the crops literally grow around us except for part of the front of the house, but our yard, that isn't part of the farm, is HUGE!)

There's a huge building there (that could use some fixing up, but is fine as-is for now), and a huge concrete slab where a garage used to be (my hubby wants to put a barbeque pit on it), and if we can buy the place, we can add on to the house! My hubby also wants chickens too lol. So we're going to have to build a chicken coop and put it next to the house. :XD: We're also going to need a cat to catch field mice...^^;

The downsides: It heats with Propane (everything else is electric), the house is VERY small (we can add-on if we can buy the place), there is no washer and dryer hookup (we'll have to get a portable washer on or do it the 1800's way; we can NOT afford to go to a laundry mat, and we'll have to dry by hanging up clothes outside). And there is only a countertop stove (well, it's just burners, no oven or anything; and there isn't a microwave, either! There used to be, but whoever lived there before took it when they moved out...) and there's no refrigerator...

Also...we're not going to have ANY food AT ALL until the 10th of next month when we get foodstamps...:cries: And we only have one vehicle and we're both working and my parents already said that they're not coming out there to pick me up to take me to work...so Richard will have to drop me off at my parents so they can take me to work, then come back over there when he gets off to pick me up and then go home...

The upsides: I feel like I'm Laura Ingalls when I stand in the yard lol. :giggle: The house CAN be added-onto if we can buy it; we CAN build a barbeque pit onto the concrete slab (where a garage used to be); we can have pets! We've got a parakeet already, a Chihuahua, we're going to need a cat, and Richard wants chickens lol. Everything in the house is electric! (Except for the heater, which is Propane...but we're going to tough it out and do without heat until it starts getting warm and staying warm...we're going to see if we can borrow space-heaters until we can either get our own or just save up for propane for the winter months....) We can get food from the church I think twice a month, we have foodstamps coming on the 10th of next month, and we can go down to the Help Office and get a voucher and take it down to the Goodwill store or St. Vincent de Paul and get furniture or appliances that we need. :)

So the bills are:

Water (Payed $70 today for deposit to get it turned on, so I don't know what our actual bills will be.)

Electric (Kenergy is letting us split up the deposit so we don't have to pay it all at once; we'll have to pay $131 this month for half the deposit and $125 (the other half of the deposit) + whatever we used in electricity next month. And since this is such a small house, we really shouldn't be using much electricity and water...especially now that it's just going to be just the two of us. ^^;

Rent is $200 a month (can't find a better deal that that...we'll be saving back either $67 a week or $50 a week, depending on what month it is, because each month has a different number of weeks, some has 4 weeks and some has 5 weeks.)

Car insurance is $62 a month. (I always forget we even have that bill to pay lol. It's once a month and they take it out themselves on the 11th of each month, so I have to make myself remember that it's there. :bademoticon:  )

I want to get internet, but it might not be for a couple of months. :( But that DOES mean very few distractions (and really nothing else to do except work on making the house and yard look good) so I can work on my drawings and commissions. :) I can always upload my drawings and commissions whenever I go to my parents' house. ^^ I just won't have any way of communicating with anyone (like if I have questions about a commission) or anything until I either go to my parents' or his parents' place. :|

Im really happy to hear that someone has found a dream house, and at a great price. I wouldn't let anything bother you. Living without a microwave is easy :giggle:
