The Iridescent Queen - lineart -

This is Mink in her "queen" form. This happens later on in the story. I don't want to give away too much info....but enough just to let everyone know that I haven't given up on the Chronicles of the Iridescent Princess...

I started on this when my hubby was working on my laptop. I don't know why, but I've been having moments when I want to draw or write something so badly. But I'm always in a artist's/writer's block. So, when my laptop started acting up, my hubby took it apart and cleaned it up and added more processor grease to the processor, and since that was taking so long, I started to get really bored, then all of a sudden, I was thinking of Mink's queen form, "Queen Peaseblossom" (Peaseblossom is her real name) and I was also thinking of Queen Serenity from Sailor Moon, and somehow I managed to draw this...I haven't had that kind of inspiration in over a year...I haven't really drawn much AT ALL in the past year...I didn't even start on the drawing like I normally do with my other drawings! For some reason, I wanted to start on the nose first, then the mouth, then the eyes, and then the face and head. Normally, I draw the head first, then the eyes, then the nose, and then the mouth...I think drawing the nose and mouth first really helped me.

I drew this on paper first, and it always seems like I always draw better on paper than on the computer...So when I finished the drawing (and after my hubby finished up on my computer), I scanned it onto my laptop and started on the lineart. I tried doing to lineart by hand like I used to, but my hands are more shaky now than they used to be (tourettes and anxiety...), so I gave up on that one and just decided to ink it on the computer. I tried to stay as close as I could with my original pencil strokes/pressure while I inked it, which is why the eyes, nose, and mouth seem different than on all my previous drawings. (I used to be a perfectionist, to where if I'm going to ink over a drawing on the computer, then I have to "perfect" my lines and such, but this time I tried to keep them the same as in the original drawing.) I hand drew the bottom part of the nose and the top part of the eyes, both which look much better hand-drawn than done by using the curve tool in Sai... (In my opinion anyway. )

Oh and the staff just came up off the top of my head. ._. I wanted her to have a staff, but didn't know what to draw, and I didn't want to lose the inspiration that I had, so I just drew a quick one... >_> Does it look weird? I didn't want it to be too lavish, but it still looks too plain...and you can tell that Sailor Moon definitely inspired this drawing....(Sailor Moon used to inspire all my drawings in the past lol. )

I was also originally wanting to color this pic with coloring pencil (all I have is Crayola), but since I had to scan it because I ruined the pencil drawing by my attempt at inking by hand, I'm going to have to color it in Sai...(Maybe Photoshop if I can get comfortable coloring in it...) I'm wanting her hair to be sort-of iridescent (multiple colors, but not to the point that she looks like a rainbow and are hard on the eyes...like they're soft colors and they blend in with one another when going from one color to another. And those colors aren't constant, it kinda "moves around" or something. It's hard to explain....think of how Kida's hair moves in the movie "Atlantis the Lost Empire" when she receives power from the crystal. The colors in Mink's hair kinda moves like that....)

EDIT: I suck at hands...

EDIT 2: And I forgot to bold the lines on parts of the staff and most of the jewels. Mostly because I had to keep merging layers (making circles is a pain in Sai), and I forgot to trace back over them with the curve tool again so that I could bold some of the lines on them...
